I searched the web for high schools or teachers using Blogs in K-12 classrooms. This was a difficult task but I managed. The two sites are www.theschoolofblog.blogspot.com and www.schoollibraryjournal.com>.
The school of blog discus subjects like, Values, Kids and race. It also has School blog on local politic, like the local mayoral candidates. They also discus other subject but you get the idea.
The values subject was about educational policy, but not this time. This time one of the teachers really needed to respond to what was going on in NYC. Apparently this is a teacher who was blogging under the values subject, prior to becoming a teacher. Then became a teacher and stopped having the energy to follow educational policy until now. Now according to the teacher there was a problem with the teacher-level test score analysis.
The Kids and race blog is used to express feelings about race. In this case the blogger keeps everyone in the world up to date on juvenile issues on his blog. In this case it was about an article from The National about the “Jena Six.” The “Jena Six” is a group of African American students in Louisiana who face trial for retaliating against a student who made a racial slur, and followed up with an offensives racial symbol (a hangman’s noose). www.theschoolofblog.blogspot.com

The next blog, schoollibraryjournal is used somewhat the same way as the above Blogs. At this site I found a teacher, I assume to be from California, who is troubled by the ease at which young people are using the web. She is concerned about how they use the web and YouTube as a vehicle to cry out for help. She doesn’t know why the youth are using the internet to cry out. She just feels something needs to be done to help.
This appears to be a blog site where bloggers can post feelings about what makes them happy or Sad. Schoollibraryjournal also appear to be a site to post comment on current events. This site also appear to be used exclusively by one teacher are librarian.

I searched the web and found two International blog sites of schools and teachers using blogs in K-12 classrooms. These sites are and . The first is a blog from a high school in Italy, Bridging the Gap from High School Blog from Italy. The second is a blog from a high school from Rockland IL, USA, Technology in the classroom.
Bridging the Gap from High School Blog from Italy is an English teacher who sent their link. They wanted to collaborate with other students. This is an English teacher who works in Italy in a Technical High School and in a Vocational School. His students are aged 16-18.
The English teacher and his students are using the web to discuss topics they are interested in. They want to develop a better understanding of the world. They are using songs, films, literature and web-based information as a starting point for discussion. They want students from other counties to share their Ideas.

The Blog from a high school from Rockland IL, Technology in the classroom is a fifth grade teacher who is describing how they use technology in their classroom. . The teacher shares that the fifth grade class uses lap top computers daily in a multitude of ways to aid their learning. The teacher describes how the class uses technology to practice, reinforce, extend, and assess their learning. The teacher goes on to tell how the class uses this technology to mo
The teacher goes on to describe other ways in which the class uses technology to learn. This is an example of how students around the world can interact. This teacher uses technology to motivate the students and keep them aware of the global society. They prepare projects for their local community as well as the web community.
